Tests
have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has suffered a hamstring injury. Spanish
giants Real Madrid have to wait to see that how much time they will have to
play without the in-form superstar.
The
Portuguese attacker suffered an injury during a 5-0 win over Almeria in La Liga
on Saturday. Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti said afterwards that it is not a big
problem and he underwent tests on Monday morning.
Those
tests revealed that the Madrid star has a hamstring injury and they must wait
to find out how long it will take to recover.
A
Madrid medical statement read that after the tests taken today in the morning by
the Real Madrid medical services in the Sanitas La Moraleja hospital, an injury
has been detected in the back of the left thigh of Ronaldo.
Reports
in Madrid saying that Ronaldo told them after the scans that he is fine but it
remains to be seen when he will return to training again.
Madrid
will face Galatasaray probably without Ronaldo on Wednesday in the Champions
League fixture at the Bernabeu, where the 9 time European champions will look
to seal their place in the round of 16.
Los
Blancos then host Real Valladolid in the La Liga on Saturday before taking on Olimpic
Xativa next weekend in the first leg of the Copa del Rey round of 32.
