A
top of the table clash between two teams that have different ambitions
altogether this season. With Liverpool pushing for a champions league spot,
Arsenal on the other hand are looking for their first trophy in eight seasons.
This match has probably come at the same stint for both teams, with Arsenal to
kick off a tough run of games from this, Liverpool are doing exactly the same
with Everton and Tottenham to follow soon.
Team News:
Liverpool:
Coutinho
will be making a comeback after an injury that sidelined him for more than 2 months;
Enrique has been sidelined for this match who has been still recovering from a
knee injury. Daniel Agger has been the point of talking this week, with rumours
speculating that he has been considering his future, It is a litmus test for
Rodgers not to play a player who has been loved by all the LFC fans.
Formation:
Well,
it is been said time and again that “All is well that ends well”, this might be
the thing that you see as a deciding factor in Rodger’s formation. With 4 wins
out of last 6, he might be going again for 3-5-2, although that formation hasn’t
allowed him to get clean sheets, strike force Suarez and Sturridge (SAS) has given the real
boost to LFC. However with the arrival of Coutinho, this formation could backfire
because going forward too much could create enough space for the likes of Ozil
to spoil the party for LFC.
Arsenal:
Arsenal
will be missing the services of Flamini who has been sidelined once again after
a lean spell. Walcott will also miss the match, he is recovering from abdominal
surgery and will return next week to face Manchester United according to news.
Arteta has served his one match ban and is ready for selection. Sergio Gnabry
who missed Capital one Cup tie against Chelsea due to an ankle injury is
expected to start from the bench.
Formation:
With
5 wins out of last six, Wenger would be in no rush and is going with the same
formation that has set his team at the top of BPL table.
With
the arrival of Ozil in summer, Arsene Wenger has benefitted from him by playing
him as an attacking midfielder in a formation of 4-5-1 that serves Giroud the
chance to be the only striker that Arsenal had inform this season.
My Prediction:
With
SAS in picture and the likes of Ozil on the other hand, this match is going to
be a cracker, however with a strike force present in SAS and a balanced
defense, I am going for a Liverpool win.
