The 33 year old,
has played for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and
currently a Stoke benchwarmer who has made only 8 appearances and has scored
only 1 goal for them. The last English man to win the Balloon d’Or, and a
successful Liverpool player who has made 297 appearance and has 158, winning
many trophies with Liverpool including FA cup, league cups and different UEFA
cups as well as many individual titles like Golden boot twice, premier league
player of the season, young player of the season. At his best, he was the sharp
striker blessed with speed and goalscorers instinct.
His major part
of the career was affected due to his injuries especially the injury he had in
the World Cup 2006 against Sweden.
He was 18 years
old when he made his debut for England. He has scored 40 goals in 89
appearances for his country, scoring many memorable goals.
In 2009, he
annoyed Liverpool fans even more than when he left for Real Madrid when he
joined the dark side over at United. The decision was shocking for the
Liverpool fans. He ends up with one more premier league medal than Steven
Gerrard will ever have.
He will be missed
by many players and fans.
Many players
tweeted him when he announced his decision.
I will miss him
a lot, because of him I became the Liverpool fan.
