Mbappe has been linked with the Gunners for the past few months after his impressive season for the French side. However, the reports suggest that he is likely to stay for another season.

The French teenager has been on several clubs' radar including Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Wenger has been planning to sign him this summer, the reports suggested that the French boss was set to offer a world record fee for Mbappe.

The 18-year-old scored 15 goals in 29 league games for Monaco last term, also debuted for France senior side.

Wenger said in an interview after a pre-season game that £100million offer is way too much, and its not true.

Even now the reports suggest that Wenger wants him to stay for another season.

Also, with the recent signing of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, Arsenal have also taken a step back from Mbappe’s pursuit.

Arsenal signed Lacazette for a club record fee around £45million excluding the add-ons.
