Arsene Wenger who has reportedly penned new deal at Arsenal recently revealed about Suarez agreement while giving interview to beINSports.

The French boss said that they had made an agreement for the Uruguay International who was set to join the Gunners.

It was reported that Gunners made a bid around £40,000,000 which was his release clause that time which was later confirmed by LFC owner John Henry. However, Liverpool were in no mood to sell their star player.

Wenger told that Suarez was very close, even the agreement between the club and the player took place but Liverpool didn’t allow him to leave.

Suarez was the vital player for Liverpool that time, Liverpool could not afford to sell him.

Wenger believed that Suarez was very much interested in joining the North London side but Liverpool were successful in keeping him as they improved his deal as promised to sell him to a big club in future.

Suarez stayed for one more season before his move to Barcelona for £75million. Where he has now won La Liga and Champions League trophies.
