Manchester United officially announced that they are delighted to seal Michael Carrick's deal which will keep him until next year’s summer.

The 34-year-old midfielder has now entered 11th year of his Man United career. The Englishman joined the club from Tottenham Hotspur back in summer 2006.

Carrick has won five Premier League titles, an FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Champions League during his time at Old Trafford.

He told the club’s website after the deal that this club has been an important part of his life for the past decade, he is extremely happy for this deal.

Carrick is also happy because of getting a chance to play under Jose Mourinho who recently replaced Louis van Gaal as United’s manager.

The Portuguese boss has already signed his first summer signing of defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal yesterday.

The boss admired Carrick by saying him an intelligent midfielder and a great reader of the game.

Carrick might not be a regular for the Red Devils but he will certainly be an important part of team.
