5. Liverpool (€160m - 2014) 
The English side spend around €160million on several players namely Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Alberto Moreno, Lazar Markovic and Mario Balotelli in the summer. However, Liverpool failed to make the most of their summer singings. They are in poor form this season after the departure of Luis Suarez.

4. Monaco (€190m - 2013)
Ligue One side Moncao brought World Class players Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho. Falcao’s knee injury let the French side suffer last season, this season he is on a two-year loan at Manchester United. While World Cup star James Rodriguez also left for Real Madrid in the summer. Joao Moutinho has also been in link with a move away from France.

3. Tottenham (€150m - 2013)
After the departure of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid for a world record fee, Spurs brought quantity rather than quality. They signed Roberto Soldado, Christian Eriksen, Paulinho and Erik Lamela. Eriksen is playing well this season. But the others are still not fulfilling their dutries.

2. QPR (€50m - 2012)
QPR spent €50million after surviving in the Premier League in 2011-12. They signed Julio Cesar, Ji-Sung Park, Jose Bosingwa, Esteban Granero, Stephane M'Bia and current Chelsea striker Loic Remy. They spent less as compared to other sides but they finished 20th after spending such amount .

1. Anzhi Makhachkala (€115m - 2011) 
Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala spent €115m in 2011 on several players including former Barcelona star Samuel Eto’o and Real Madrid star Roberto Carlos. However, they failed to join the Russian elite which led them to sell their star names.
