Things Learned from Liverpool performance against Arsenal: Formation 3-5-3 can be adapted! Raheem Sterling is not a striker! Coutinho is still a quality player!

Liverpool earned a point against Arsenal in the Premier League game at Anfield earlier today.

Liverpool failed to pick the three points in the end but they still didn’t end the game without nothing, they earned a point along with many positives that Brendan Rodgers should apply in the coming games to get the results.

It was second best performance from the Reds after Tottenham Hotspurs game in the start of the season. Liverpool played an exceptional game despite even going down to 10 men in the end.

Arsenal failed to show any positive signs, they failed to create enough chances and also failed to keep the ball. They had only seven shots, 20 less than the home side.

Formation 3-5-3 can be adapted!
Brendan Rodgers played this formation for the first time and did very well. The major concern is the wing-back positions. Lazar Markovic and Jordon Henderson both of them are not the best for that role but still they managed to show a great game.
Markovic had a good game despite of some silly mistakes in the defence.
While Henderson is a centre midfielder and today played a fine role on the right side with both attacking and defensive duties.
This formation can be adapted for future games!

Raheem Sterling is not a striker!
Raheem Sterling started as a lone striker but failed to fulfil the striker’s duties. Sterling did not get enough chances in the first half but when Markovic got replaced by Fabio Borini, Sterling got his favourite left wing role and showed impressive game.
Sterling should not be used as a lone striker!

Coutinho is still a quality player!
The young Brazilian has been suffering so many ups and dows since his move to Liverpool. He was Liverpool’s top performer today not only for his wonderfoal goal but for his total attacking sense. He fulfilled his number 10 role successfully.
Coutinho still got the number 10 quality!
