The Gunners are planning to offer an £8million for Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote, who is keen to join the North London side according to reports.

The Ivory Coast international was signed by the Magpies for £3.5 million from FC Twente in 2010. He has played 119 games for Newcastle since his move.

Arsene Wenger is still in search of a midfielder and was recently linked with Sami Khedira and William Carvalho but seems that they have failed on both of them.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti told that the German midfielder Sami Khedira will be staying in Spain at Santiago Bernabeu.

The Gunners have already signed a right-back from Newcastle Mathieu Debuchy and are hoping to secure another deal.

While on the other side, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Liverpool center-back Daniel Agger who might leave Anfield this summer. Agger is being eyed as Thomas Vermaelen’s replacement who recently joined Spanish giants Barcelona.

Wenger is hoping to conclude a deal before the start of the season.
